Pestalotiopsis - Gordonia axillaris

This fungus commonly affects camellia spp. and invades areas of leaf that are already damaged or sunburnt. The area becomes silvery grey and may have black pin-prick sized fruiting bodies. Adjust cultural practises to minimise leaf damage.

  1. Found in Gordonia due to the fact that it belongs to the same family as Camellia's.

Remove diseased leaves or spray with a cover spray preventative such as Mancozeb, although this is not as affective as cultural removal. Also avoid water build up on foliage over night.
